The Cabot's Family Story & Heritage

Since we got married we have always vacationed in the mountains, enjoying the best of what mother nature has to offer.  We were always keeping our eyes open for the perfect property to eventually retire on and in 2012 we found it!  159 acres nestled in the North Thompson Valley, bare land that we could set up the way we wanted, and to make life even better - the price was right!  The picture is what we started with, a travel trailer in the bush, no hydro, no services just peace and calm!

The long term plan quickly got moved up to a short term plan when we realized just how different the quality of life was after spending the better part of the winter of 2012/2013 at the property, and the wheels were in motion to make it a permanent move.

In April 2013 I got in my little SUV, loaded up with groceries, clothes and my started seedlings for the garden and off our daughter and I went, leaving the hubby this was the start of our long distance telephone marriage, but it was all for the benefit of our future!

We quickly learned that we had to be resourceful if we were going to make this work on a limited budget.  I have become the queen of upcycling, recycling, repurposing and making do.  Big change from sitting in an office all day dealing with clients.

But, both of us grew up on farms and had experience in what needed to happen and we had the desire to live a healthier life.

We definetely have more permanent buildings in place now, and are constantly building, fencing, and still learning, but we love every minute of it!

What we Believe

Why Natural not Organic?

We believe that we are exposed to enough chemicals on a daily basis, we do not need to add to that in the food that we eat or the products we use on our skin or around our home.  We raise without chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, herbicides, etc.  This results in a higher quality product!

Organic certification=Extra Costs!

Did you know that for a farm to become certified organic it costs thousands of dollars per year?  Who pays for that - you as the customer!  This means that "organic" products are quite often out of the affordability of the average person, we strive to ensure that everyone has access to the highest quality natural products available!
